A couple more poppies

I've made a couple more cards using the penny black stamps I bought from Sir Stampalot and the Hero Arts text stamp. The first poppy image I did on silk finish card and the second onto watercolour paper. Both are coloured with distress inks. On the first I used fired brick and on the second I used faded jeans. Not my best colouring on the second one. I couldn't seem to stop it from going blotchy. Thanks for looking!

Beautiful Sally, it helps blending on water colour paper if you brush over with a brush slightly moistened with water first and leave that a short while to soak in. If you then paint your first layer leave that to dry a little then build up for more intense colour or for darker shading. Lighter shading can be achieved by painting over with water before it dries. Hope that makes sense!
Thanks for your beautiful card, it is gorgeous.

Both absolutely beautiful. Can't see anything at all wrong with the colouring. Real poppies aren't uniformly smooth in their colouring either. x

It always amazes me how different images can look when done in different colours. These are lovely.
