Last minute creativeness!

In a bid to enjoy my last day of holiday till 23rd December, I've done quite a bit today. I watched a couple of hours of Sheena whilst marking some books, (Love the new lakes stamps), finished some planning, tidied my desk a little, made a Carrot cake to take to work tomorrow and made a couple of cards for work mates birthdays next week, oh and did a roast dinner too.
Sheena did a sky using these colours of distress inks this morning, so I thought I'd have a go and used some Lavinia seed heads instead of trees. There is quite a bit of glitter on this one, but you can't really see it in the photo.
My second card is very different, with a Bugaboo digital image coloured with promarkers and used some scraps of papers that have been hanging around on my desk for ages. As it used scraps I'm entering this into Jules's crafty snippet challenge.
The flowers and leaves were also punched from snippets. Well, I'd better go. Thanks for looking!

Wow Sally - you have been one busy lady! Every time I read your Posts I start to feel hungry - can't think why!
As for the cards - love the colouring and the Lavinia stamp on the first one - absolutely gorgeous.
The second one - mmmmm - now there's an idea worth considering :~D Lol!! Brilliant!!

Hope next Term goes well - Christmas will be here before we know it, so not long to wait.

Love, love, love that top card with the white highlighting - perfectly done, Sally. Beautiful stamps and they look extra special done that way. Gorgeous colours. Wish I could cope with these craft programmes on TV but I just can't tolerate the marketing :-(

Well done for getting so much done! Back to the grindstone, eh? Try not to work too hard - it's a long haul until Christmas and always a busy time of year for Primary. Bet the carrot cake is good - one of the few cakes I really love x

Hi Sally . That first card certainly is beautiful another card that should be framed I think. The background is so beautiful and the seed heads make it a little surreal and so beautifully balanced. The second one made me laugh great sentiment and oh so true unfortunately. You asked if I had used funky foam for embossing well I have used foam but don't know if its funky. Just normal foam I think , so what does funky foam do does it dance lol.

Hi Sal

Wow!! What a busy day you have had!!

It sounds just like when me and my Sis were kids .. .. we would always find something extra exciting to do on the very last day of a school holiday .. .. and wish we had discovered whatever it was we did at the beginning of it LOL!!!

Loving your cards.

Your snippet make really made me smile (must give that one a try) and your first one is gorgeous too.

Thank you for sharing in the snippet playground again this week and don't work too hard!! I bet they love you taking in your yummy cakes.

Love Jules xx

Gorgeous cards Sally. I adore the one at the top. I loved the lake stamps too, I wonder how long I will be able to resist temptation?
I bet you are looking forward to 23rd Dec! Daniel can't wait to get back to school after half term - he's really missed it.

Fabulous cards Sally! The top one is really atmospheric and I love those Lavinia thistles. I don't watch much on craft TV these days (too much licky sticky imo) but I did catch that Sheena was on and recorded it to watch in peace this week as I had visitors again yesterday. Looking forward to watching now if it gave you inspiration for this wonderful creation.

Your second card made me laugh out loud! Unfortunately I can really empathise with the sentiment ;)! I will probably be chuckling all day when I think of it.

Sounds like you've had a really busy day, Sally. You are so good with your baking. I bet they love you at school!!
Thought you'd like those stamps of Sheena's, they had you written all over them.
Your Lavinia thistles are gorgeous. I keep being tempted by these and the other seed heads everytime we go to the shows. My resolve will weaken one of these days.
Hope you have a great half term and don't work too hard.

The Lavinia seed heads card is gorgeous, I love the background. Is this a stamp? If so, can you tell me the company? I like that image.

Your cards, though both are quite different, are brilliant. I, too, watched Sheena demonstrate that background technique and I think your interpretation is fabulous - it really works well with the seed heads. The second card is a real fun one - some of us might just identify with the sentiment :) Great snippet card. Elizabeth x
