Autumn landscape

It has been a glorious day here, admittedly a bit cold (about 5 degrees) and there was a dusting of snow this morning, but we have had the most wonderful walk at Linacre Reservoirs near Chesterfield. Here are quite a lot of photos!
This Mandarin Duck was so camouflaged in the branches of a fallen tree!
I love to go there at this time of year. The colours of the trees and the reflections are so very beautiful. You needed to be wrapped up, but it lifted the spirits to be out in the sunshine. I might have to try and recreate one or two of those landscapes...
Thanks for looking!

Great photos Sal, please weather was bright even if a tad cold, -2 here last night and it's been rain and sleet most of the day so my craft room was by far the best place to be !!

You've got far more colour up your end of the country than we have this autumn, it's quite disappointing here really and everything is predominantly yellow. I'm told it has to do with the excessive rainfall we had.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Gorgeous photos! Such wonderful colours. We went there in March last year. Beautiful place, but of course the colours weren't so good then. They are pretty spectacular up here just now. Must try and post some pics! x

Awesome photos! love all the beautiful fall colors. We are going to the mountains, afraid the leaves will all be gone but it will be nice just to be away. don't freeze!

Great minds, Sally. We did the exact same thing yesterday at our local reservoir and took very similar photos. No snow here but beautiful and crisp and sunny. The colours were wonderful. Not so good today though, cloudy and damp!!!

Oh Sally, those photos are glorious, especially the Mandarin posing so well for you. The best shots are those that just happen, not the ones that are carefully posed. Thank you for your visit and kind comments on my mountains. Again, the best photo just happened and could never be repeated. xx Maggie

Isn't that Mandarin Duck just splendid? I love the way the birds hide themselves this time of the year & root around - not to mention all kinds of other little creatures.
Glorious colours - the Beacons are changing daily here & it's getting a lot colder.

Hi Sally - thanks for your lovely comment (seems we are both late-night bloggers)!!
Your photos are beautiful - I love the autumn colours too. Not very keen on the cold weather though!
Your reports from Rwanda were amazing - the experience must have given you a whole new outlook on life.
Have a happy week - Sylvia xx
